Mark Turk
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
Mark grew up in a family committed to the accounting profession. Five of his brothers are CPAs and one of his sisters is a controller for a large manufacturing corporation.
Before joining WD&W, Mark received his BBA degree in Accountancy from Cleveland State University. He served in the US Army, including a tour of duty in the Republic of Viet Nam, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
RESPONSIBILITIES AT WD&W
Mark has served as Financial Partner and as Administrative Partner. He reached retirement age in June of 2009, but has stayed on in a part-time capacity, continuing to provide limited client service.
SPECIALTY AREAS
Mark's client experience is largely concentrated in closely-held businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
He has developed considerable expertise in auditing and taxation issues related to employee benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS
- The Ohio Society of CPAs (past chairman of the Taxation Committee for three years and accountant liaison to the Ohio Municipal League for 10 years.)
- The American Institute of CPAs (has served on Taxation Division committees)

What is one character trait you highly value? Honesty.
Describe the best vacation you’ve ever taken? The Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming or Sequoia National Park in California.

What did you want to be when you grew up? Retired.
What was the first car you ever owned? Mercury Meteor.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Australia.
